VW CPO TEST
Certified Pre-Owned
The right Volkswagen doesn’t have to be new; it just has to feel right for you.
And when it’s Volkswagen Certified Pre-Owned, you get the confidence of a car that’s been thoroughly inspected, carefully renewed, and backed by benefits designed to support every mile ahead.
Volkswagen Certified Vehicle Qualification Process
For a pre-owned vehicle to earn the designation of a Volkswagen Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) model, it must meet a strict set of standards designed to help ensure exceptional quality and reliability. Only select Volkswagen vehicles qualify, and each candidate must pass through the following steps:
Eligibility
The vehicle must meet Volkswagen’s age and mileage criteria and be in overall excellent condition. Vehicles flagged with restricted coverage (including but not limited to vehicle tuning, or modifications) are not permitted in the VW CPO Program.
Clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report™2
Every CPO candidate must provide a clean and verified CARFAX Vehicle History Report. This confirms there are no reported title issues, major incidents, mileage discrepancies, or other red flags that would compromise the vehicle’s integrity or it’s eligibility for certification.
Verified Maintenance and Service History
The vehicle’s maintenance must be fully up-to-date at the time of inspection and all recalls and campaigns must be performed. Any required services or factory-recommended maintenance items are completed to meet Volkswagen standards.
Inspected and Serviced by a VW Certified Technician
A Volkswagen Certified Level Technician performs all inspections, diagnostics and any required repairs. Only Genuine Volkswagen Parts are used throughout the certification process to ensure the vehicle maintains factory-level performance, safety and durability.
Comprehensive Multi-Point Inspection
Before a vehicle can be officially certified, it must pass Volkswagen’s rigorous 100+ point inspection. This detailed assessment covers mechanical systems, safety components, interior and exterior quality, and road performance to ensure the vehicle meets CPO standards.
Why drivers choose Volkswagen Certified Pre-Owned
